History of Memes

Memes have a longer history then you think they first started in the late 90’s when the internet was exploding and people were using it quite a bit. First off let me give you the definition of a meme. Meme- a humorous image, video, piece of text, etc. that is copied (often with slight variations) and spread rapidly by Internet users. Now that you know the definition lets talk about one of the first memes to exist. The which comes from 1998, which involves a crazy song with dancing hamsters. This pretty much sums up the internet a crazy, weird, taboo place. Now in modern times memes are everywhere, they are endless. Anyone can create a meme, it is easy and simple.
